I think mythology has to do more with beleif than truth. Mythology is based on what people think came to be, but is not neccisarily true. On the other hand, what people believe is what they consider to be true. Mythology has to do with truth based on beleifs and not facts. I also think that when you talk about truth it has been proved and stated rather than what could have happened and what should resonable. Mythology we read are people thinking it is possible to be true, yet not proven. The truth value in mythology sometimes could get carried away due to what people want to believe is true and what has been proven the truth.

When reading Lord of the Flies, I learned a lot about truth. When you reveal truth, you reveal who you truely are. For example, when Jack showed his true self it was a savage monster. Truth has to do with who you really are. In the Lord of the Flies, it is shown that how you act is who you are.Piggy being the responsbile logical one showed us that he had good intenstions and that was his truth and his self. When we look at the other characters, they show their own truth by their actions. Truth is not somethign you can prove, but it is what you make of it, and a perfect example would be from all the different characters in this book.

In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, it ties all the truths throughout this semester. Truth is right, but justice is not always right. When we think about Scout finding out about the "truth" in the society she lost her innocence. Truth is also not always a good thing. Between what is right and what is true there is also a difference. Prejudice and racism against black people were true, but it was not right and just. Justic and being right is the same, but truth is not. Truth tells you the difference between correct and incorrent, but sometimes that coreect part is not always right (just).

In the book Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, truth was revealed through Pip's expectations. Throughout the expectaions Pip has to deal with, the truth about his dreams becomes clear. As his dreams fade away, the truth of his reality becomes more clearer. The reality was that he was not going to become anything great or fantastic. Pip needed to accept that reality as the truth. In this book, truth is expressed as what is real and what is not. Hence, realism verses idealism, because Pip has all these ideal dream that did not pursue, and it slowly just turned back into his reality. This truth was not based upon opinions or views, but it was based upon the actual facts and reality of Pip's no longer dream.

In the book Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, the main theme would be dreams. Lennie was initially the dreamer; while George was the realistic one of the two who actually worked towards the dream. The truth shown throughout this theme because it descirbes reality. Even though Lennie and George's dream seems a little hard to achieve, the truth in that is Georege. This is because, Lennie is a big kid at heart and he does not know how hard life was back then. The truth is expressed by George because he actually knows what is going on and he has a well understanding of common knowledge. He will be the ultimate decison in weather they do pursur their dream which is truth. Lennie is just the drive and motivation that gets George through it.
